The MSc has been developed by a team of education professionals in consultation with specialist digital practitioners. Content has been written by individuals and reviewed by the faculty peer group before validation, and it has undergone a further review procedure by an external digital professional as part of the validation process.
Universities tend to face a challenge in maintaining the relevancy of their content, however the structure of our course means that while the academic learning outcomes remain the same, the content of the specialist lessons is fully flexible and can rapidly adapt to changing needs. An on-going programme of candidate feedback and annual faculty meetings will ensure that the content remains fresh and relevant to current commercial practices.
Teaching is delivered by a faculty made up of expert practitioners and academic staff. MMC has worked with some of the UK’s most experienced digital marketers to develop and deliver the content with the likes of Smart Insights’ CEO Dave Chaffey, Digital Consultant Mike Baxter, eCRM specialist Andrew Campbell and MD of Lynchpin Analytics, Andrew Hood leading units. All our trainers are front line marketers and have experience of delivering Masters level education.
MMU’s academic faculty is unique in that all the tutors hail from digitally-focused commercial backgrounds, helping them bridge the gap between academia and the ‘real world’. A number of the tutors are also undertaking or have completed PhDs focusing on digital disciplines, so they really are at the top of their game.
The MSc is delivered through a combination of live online classes, online discussion, self-study and work based assessments. The live sessions include specialist training led by industry practitioners, and academic tutorial sessions where you will dive into theory and prepare for your assessments.
Candidates should allow for around eight hours of study per week during term time.
Simply complete our online application form. The form is fairly self-explanatory but we’re always on hand to help if you have any questions.
We’ll review your form and provide an official decision within ten working days.
You are not obligated to take up an offer of a place and we are happy to defer your application to the next intake if you’re not ready to commit to the course. We operate on a first come first served basis and there are limited spaces available, so we do advise that you apply as early as possible to ensure you have first refusal.
For those who would like to meet us face to face, we hold open evenings around the UK. Not only will members of the management and academic teams be on hand to answer your questions, but previous and current delegates will be in attendance (where possible) to give you the inside track on the course.
During open evenings we can also review your application to ensure you have everything you need before submitting, and provide more in-depth advice on whether the course is right for you given you current situation and objectives.
Yes. Although we have reviewed the syllabus for relaunch, graduates from the MSc in Digital Marketing Communications will have had much the same student experience as the new programme will deliver. If you’d like to speak to someone, drop us a line with details of your background and experience and we’ll try to find someone in a similar situation who can share their thoughts.
Here at MMC we’re very aware of the pressures on professionals choosing to undertake a qualification while they work. We have a dedicated MSc management team who will work to take the pain out of organizing your study:
Responses to requests for advice and information within the business day wherever possible
Highly knowledgeable team with significant experience of working with university systems and processes to smooth communications
Timely communications and regular reminders of what’s required, both in terms of attendance and assignments
Rapid decision making to help you plan your time and commitments
Technical assistance should you need help with any of the online systems or accessing content online
Face to face access to the team when you’re in Manchester
We understand that starting a course like the MSc is a big commitment and sometimes people realise that it’s not right for them. We try and provide as much information ahead of the programme to ensure your decision to apply is fully informed and you have realistic expectations about the experience and commitment.
We would always urge you to speak to someone about any issues as soon as possible so we can work with you to improve things. We offer a 100% refund on fees at any point up to the end of the induction day and a member of the team will be available during that day if you need to discuss any concerns.
Once you start attending teaching sessions (usually the day following the induction) we offer a 50% refund on fees up until the second block of teaching, at which point we are no longer able to offer refunds.
