How to balance a busy life with children and achieve a CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing
The balancing act of juggling work, family, and kids is no small feat. It can be difficult for many people to find the time to pursue hobbies outside of their families or have any kind of social life. However, for Marketing entrepreneur and mother Tracey Foran, squeezing out a few hours here and there to study was achieved as she stayed driven and persistent in her learning journey.
“I’m tired of people telling me that it’s impossible. It’s possible. I’m living proof.”

Investment…no I am not talking money on this occasion. I travelled to London for my CIM graduation a couple of weekends ago with my daughter. What an amazing, memorable, inspirational day we both had. My daughter said she felt inspired by the amount of graduates who were getting awards like her Mum and that made me feel very proud.
During lockdown I studied for my CIM Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing, Level 6 Qualification remotely. ( Yes home schooling 2 kids, working like everyone else). Learning a new skill that pushed me way beyond my comfort zone challenged my stress levels at first. Once I become more competent my happiness levels started to soar and this bubbled over into my everyday life and made me feel more confident and capable. Thats the investment I am talking about. Don’t expect everyone else to invest in you. It’s your responsibility to ensure you continue to invest in your skills whatever level of your career. Do something that inspires you.
I must give a big shout out to MMC Learning and the brilliant top notch lecturers. The CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing, I am now a ‘proper Yorkshire’ marketeer….happy learning everybody.
A professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing was essential
If you want to be successful in your Marketing career, a professional qualification can be an important part of showcasing your skills and interests.
Whether you’re a parent, an entrepreneur, or working for someone else, a professional qualification will always give you an advantage, but some people keep putting it off until later.
The process has become easier these days. A top UK learning provider provides online qualifications with the same quality as on-campus courses. Study modes allow you to fit your studies around your life. There is a lot of flexibility with timing.

How to manage study and work while raising kids
Keeping a work-life balance is difficult. In your role as a working parent, you will likely have to juggle your children’s needs with those of your employer.
When you don’t have a good system in place to keep small children occupied while their parents work, working with small children can be difficult.
With the right planning, it is possible to be a successful working parent. Identify your goals and be realistic about what you can accomplish in your limited time.
Make good use of technology by communicating through email, text messages, or voice chats, and negotiate flex hours. When enrolled with a very good learning provider, ask for assistance.
How to balance work and family while pursuing your CIM qualification
As a parent and professional, it can be hard to find the time and energy to invest in your study.
It can be challenging to balance work and family obligations while keeping your eye on the success ladder. You can achieve these goals in many ways.
Success shows that you can make it happen by making small changes in your daily routines one step at a time.
To help you strike the right balance between work and family, here are a few tips:
- Plan Your Work and Family Schedule: Planning is the key to managing work and family life successfully. Organise your schedule so that you can achieve your goals and spend time with your family.
- Your Job Should Not Get in the Way: Do not let your job become the most important thing in your life. Getting caught up in work and letting it take over everything else is easy. Work doesn’t have to consume all your time, and you don’t have to ask for permission to take a break.
- Establish a Family Budget: You need a family budget in order to ensure you can afford to invest in yourself and continue to keep your other activities going. We should remember that investing money in personal development is an investment for ourselves and our families that will reap rewards for many years to come.
- Give Yourself Permission to take time off: Giving yourself permission to take time off is an important part of creating a balance between work and family life. When you are at work, be at work. When you are at home, be at home – become present in what you do.
- Check with other parents: thousands of parents have graduated successfully. Talk to them and learn what challenges to watch out for.
Your success can inspire your children
Tracey’s daughter attended the graduation and was amazed by the experience.
Children are the future of our world, so we should get them involved in what interests them from an early age if we want them to be successful. When they complete a task, they should feel a sense of accomplishment and pride.
The joy of seeing and experiencing success in parents is contagious. These are moments that will carry them through life. A positive attitude is everything. A sense of inspiration, determination, and perseverance will help children achieve their goals and make the journey easier.
